If you have never been to London, more than likely you have heard that the “food is terrible” especially in a London Hotel Restaurant. Well I’m here to tell you that nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, London is a world-class city and some of the best meals I have ever had were enjoyed there! And since I’m a New Yorker, that’s saying something!

B&B London is an interesting type of stay – not quite a small hotel and certainly not a quaint little bed and breakfast either. These rooms are somewhere in between and can be a great change from the norm. If you’re looking to save money but still want to stay somewhere nice, London b&b’s may just be the answer.

When I first heard that London would host the 2012 Olympics, I was shocked. I couldn’t imagine where they would put it and after the Millenium Dome fiasco, I was sure it wouldn’t succeed. Now, I have to admit that I am sure I was wrong. No one can put on a show like the Brits. They will more than likely go over the projected (and increased) 9 billion-pound budget but I’ve no doubt they’ll win it back in the end. So the next question is where will they put all the new hotel rooms and which ones will be the type of hotel you will want to stay in?

There are loads of travel logs which will tell you about the different areas of London and where to stay based on the location of the touristy places – matching your budget to a local hotel. That is not what I’m going to tell you about in this article. Instead . . . I’m going to tell you about the Smart Casual hotels – where you’re going to find a great meal – fantastic cocktails – lovely accommodations and service – and perhaps even some star gazing in the bargain! Thankfully, our London Hotel Review will not review all of those. We will, however, review the ones we love, the ones in the areas we frequent most often, we’ll tell you about great deals (which are everywhere just now in this economy) and we’ll even throw in some unusual information including history and insider jokes.
